Plywood and timber are known for their versatility, yet traditional wood products often face challenges such as warping, unevenness, or mold over time.
To overcome these issues and elevate the quality of wood materials, Tjipseng has developed an exclusive innovation — the Carbonised Plywood and Carbonised Timber series.
These products have quickly become a hallmark of durability and sustainability in Taiwan’s market.
What Makes Tjipseng Carbonised Wood Different from Conventional Heat-Treated Wood?
Ordinary heat treatment focuses mainly on sterilisation and pest control. According to national standards, heating the wood core to 60°C for 30 minutes is sufficient for basic treatment — but not enough to destroy insect eggs completely.
Tjipseng’s Carbonisation Technology goes far beyond.
Through a progressive high-temperature process that raises the wood core to over 200°C, we achieve:
The result is wood with superior stability, exceptional durability, and zero formaldehyde emission — a new benchmark for healthy and long-lasting materials.
Why Choose Tjipseng Carbonised Plywood?
1. Built to Last
Formulated with Tjipseng’s proprietary adhesive system that meets national waterproof plywood standards, each panel is engineered for exceptional bonding strength.
The 200°C carbonisation process enhances fibre crystallisation, making the wood more resistant to decay, deformation, and pests — even in demanding environments.
2. Healthier Living, Cleaner Air
Independent lab tests confirm that formaldehyde emissions are below detection limits (<0.05 mg/L) — effectively zero emission.
With a carbon content of 52.2% (SGS certified), the micro-pores formed during carbonisation help absorb airborne formaldehyde and VOCs, keeping indoor spaces fresher and safer.
3. Certified Confidence
Tjipseng Carbonised Series has earned 8 patents across 5 countries — Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China — and each product strictly complies with Taiwan CNS standards.
Every board is tested and verified for consistent quality and reliability.
4. Sustainable by Design
Our materials are sourced from renewable plantation forests in New Zealand, Chile, Brazil, and responsibly managed eucalyptus and poplar forests in China.
This ensures environmentally conscious production, reduces carbon emissions, and supports sustainable forestry.

Can Tjipseng Carbonised Plywood Be Laminated?
Absolutely.
Tjipseng Carbonised Plywood can be laminated with PP, PVC, melamine, Boeing film, wear-resistant paper, or natural veneer, offering versatile finishing options for interior design and furniture production.
However, we do not recommend light-colored veneers prone to mold, such as white oak or paulownia.
